SDHA at Kigali International Peace Marathon 2019

The now renowned annual race attracts thousands of runners both amateurs and professionals from across the country and beyond. Started in 2004 as way to the healing and reconciliation Rwandans after 1994 Genocide against Tutsis, Kigali International Peace Marathon has now turned out to be incontestable event that brings many people irrespective their age, lifestyle and so forth.

The Kigali International Peace Marathon held on 16th June 2019, saw members and staff of Sustainable Development and Humanitarian Action (SDHA) joining other runners to celebrate and participate in this invaluable event.

Two SDHA members including Legal Representative (Mr Jean Pierre Hakizimana) participated  in the second category of run of  professionals (Half-Marathon: 21Km) while other Team members runt for Category “Run for Peace” 10Km. All SDHA Team members completed their respective challenge-distances and were awarded the medals.

Envisioning “A world in which people have sustainable livelihoods and coping power to disasters and vulnerabilities for well-being and dignity’’, SDHA believes the inspiration of the race is a reminder to the public that where peace reigns also development happen.
