SDHA Supports Hospital Patients To Improve Nutrition And Hygiene

The Sustainable development and Humanitarian Action ‘’SDHA’’ is committed to engage in humanitarian initiatives namely: improvement of health care, prevention and management of disasters as well as supporting refugees.

In this line therefore, SDHA regularly assists the local Association of Christians volunteers of Murambi SDA Church who are committed to provide food to poor patients of Kabyayi Hospital, Muhanga District in Southern Province of Rwanda.

Beneficiaries of SDHA support includes admitted people from different districts in Rwanda and outside the country like Uganda, Burundi, DR Congo etc, for medical treatment whose financial means are not enough or don’t have relatives nearby.

The SDHA support consists of food and hygienic products like soaps to help patients to improve their health and hygiene and sanitation. The activity started 2016 and is organized twice a month. 100 to 150 beneficiaries are reached out through collaboration with the hospital management and christian volunteers team under supervision of SDHA Technician.

 Apart from food and hygiene products, SDHA in collaboration with the local association of Christians, sensitizes the patients on hygiene and sanitation practices like hand washing, balanced diet among other health related topics.

SDHA plans to be engaged in cooperation with the Hospital to improve this humanitarian activity by increasing food quantity, support vulnerable patients for accessing basic hospital services and other means, increasing hygienic products like soaps and equipment to improve health care of the patient.

SDHA also plans to work with International medical institutions to support hospitals and refugee’s heath centers to improve the health care services by providing Medical equipment as well as capacity building for quality service.
